Fresh Rhubarb ...

In The Kitchen

Our neighbour delivered a basket full of fresh cut rhubarb ...

just before we left for Okotoks ...

there was an abundance of stalks ... soooo ...

decided to share some with mom ...

Thank goodness I have an extra Food Saver in this kitchen ...

ended up packaging 5 bags with 6 cups of rhubarb in each ...

ready to make my all time favourite ...

In Concert

We had a wonderful time performing on this evening ...
and to have Dr. Sherry Overholt join us ...
in our little city of Cranbrook ...
with her unbelievable voice ...
was definitely the highlight of the evening ...
All I can say is "WOW"

Excited to get started on our new music ...

 for our concert to be held ...

 at the end of the year ....

watching the two crows fighting over a gopher with the hawk ...
the crows finally chased the hawk up into the trees ...

were a couple of coyotes running across the field ...
right past the elk into the crown land ...

Grateful to live in this beautiful valley ...
so close to nature ...
never get tired of watching the wildlife ...

Coffee's On ...

Fresh Baked Bread

Realized there was no bread in the house this morning ...

decided to use the Bread Machine ... 

since it whips up a quick loaf ...

 used my mother's trusty Multi-grain Bread recipe...

Enjoyed a cup of coffee and read while it was baking ...

the aroma was overwhelming ...

finally it was ready to take out of the Bread Machine ...

one ... no ... two warm slices ...

smothered in Peanut Butter ...

mmmmmm

sooooo tasty .... !!!!

I on the other hand prefer to save room for dessert ...

English-Cut Roast Beef

Thin slices of roast beef, served in a tower containing ...

roasted cherry tomatoes, asparagus and carrots ...

on a bed of garlic butter whipped potatoes ...

Then Dessert

Apple Strudel

The housemade strudel accented by a creme anglaise sauce ...

and served with cinnamon ice cream ...

Oh my ...

had no problems devouring this ...

absolutely... most delicious dessert ...

Think I will have to go on another hike ...

oh my goodness ... so worth it ... !!!

Inside Brewer's Market ...

located beside the hot pools ...

stepping into the past where you can enjoy home-made goodies ...

old fashioned candy ...  souvenirs and special gifts ...

I had to have black Liquorice before we started on our walk ...

mmmmmm

We ended up going on a 5 km hike ... 

taking in all of natures sights ...

stopping for a rest along the creek ...

and admiring all the water falls and hot pools ...

we were so ready to hit the hot pools and relax upon arriving back at the lodge ...

Mike & I were given a gift certificate for Christmas ...

from Ian, Kendall and Daigen ...

we were unaware of an expiry date ...

when we checked ... we had until the end of May to use it ...

we left for Fairmont Hot Springs on Thursday  ...

to spend the evening and the next day relaxing by the pool ...

planning on going on a hike during the day on Friday ...

then enjoy an intimate dinner ...

before we head home for the long weekend ...

What a wonderful surprise to receive a phone call from Audrey ...

we have not seen each other in quite a few years ...

she had been living in Houston, Texas ...

going on 4 years now ...

We decided to meet and go for a long walk along the Sheep River path ...

talking about old times and what is happening in her life now ...

the big news is that her husband has taken a job back in Calgary ...

so between living in Naramata, BC and Calgary ...

we will be able to visit more often ... 

we had a great time ... !

James' Big Toe

Another injury in the Knight household ...

this time it was James ...

received a call from our grandson last week ...

apparently he was holding onto the tall bar stool by the island in the kitchen ...

leaned back ... fell ...

with the stool landing on his toes ...

ooooo ... it sure looks sore ...  wonder if he will loose the nail ...

waiting for a call for an update ...

I finally had some time to play and crochet ...

Blowing Winds ... Fasten Everything Down ... !

The winds picked up late in the afternoon on Saturday ...

ranging from 20-50 km an hour ...

It continued all night ...

things were being blown around ...

BBQ and  chairs were on the other side of the deck ... 

thought we would have lost a few trees ...

but ... luckily only branches were scattered on the ground ...

and the best part ... we never lost the power or wifi ...
