Kendall & I spent a bit of time ...

admiring all the gifts as we took each one out ...

and displaying them in Nixon's room  ...

to take a picture ...

Amazing to see all these different baby items ...

not one was duplicated ...

While Kendall & I were working with the gifts ...

and trying to take pictures ...

Daigen kept dancing thru the area ...

waiting for grandma to take a picture of him ...

he was being so silly ...

doing crazy things ...

how could I resists that smiling face...

we had some good laughs with the kooky kid ...

Ian & Kendall used the skull on the gift tags for Nixon ...

they were surprised to see these little shoes, soother, and pacifier holder ...

capturing the same theme ...

I think the little high-top sneakers are cute ...

Kendall was so happy to have received all these baby items ...

they are now waiting for the baby furniture to arrive ...

to finish decorating the baby's room ...

This was a special time with Ian and Kendall ...

Kendall is so cute ...

love her (big) little baby bump ...

All gathered together to play some baby shower games ...

then the last game ...

we were divided into two teams ...

pink and blue ...

then a version of Price is Right was played ...

it was a riot ...

 the younger moms sure knew their prices of baby products ...

After the games ...

we were all given "onesie"

to decorate ...

the paint tubes were handed out and passed around ...

a very creative group of women ...

Keepsakes for Kendall ...

Daigen wanted to decorate a diaper shirt as well ...

so Lola (Kendall's mom) helped him ...

he had fast little hands ...

his fingers were in the paint in no time ...

with the excess wiped in his hair and on his clothes ...

It was decided that after everyone left ...

pictures would be taken ...

when all the gifts were put out on display ...

It was time to enjoy some refreshments ...

for Kendall to cut the baby cake ...

Baby Shower For ...

Setting up for the shower to begin ..

guests starting to arrive ...

This is the cake that Kendall had chosen to be made for the shower ...

this little one did a face plant ...

it was a delicious, decadent,  chocolate cake with a rich chocolate mousse filling ...

The cake was made and decorated by a friend ...

this person is very talented in creating these masterpieces ...

These were the thank you gifts for all the guests ...

Christine (Kendall's friend) who arranged the shower ...

 had these little shortbread cookies made to hand out ...

Kendall made up some bath balms ...

and Ian designed the little cards ...

I enjoyed helping Kendall putting these little gift packages together ...

Kendall received three Diaper Cakes ...

this is such a great idea for a baby shower ...

these cakes were decorated with toys, bath products, bottles, formula, soothers ...

 and so much more ..

I will be posting more pictures of the shower tomorrow ...

With all the Baby Shower preparations done ...

we were waiting for everyone to a arrive  ... 

Daigen & I took some quiet time ...

to read, play and learn on the iPad ...

I had downloaded a few books ...

Daigen loves that they are interactive ...

with just a touch he was able to open, activate the movement, sounds and turn pages ...

it wasn't long before he just took the iPad ..

to work on his own ...

knowing exactly how it works now ...

Cruisin' Today ...

In The T-Bucket

We ended up meeting Ian at the Millet Ice Arena ...

to watch a friend of theirs son, play hockey ...

(Ian was the goalie coach for the team)

It was a beautiful day to go cruisin' ...

so Ian took out the Rat Rod for a spin ...

Daigen & I had our picture taken in the T-Bucket ... 

then Ian took me for a ride ...

back to the house ...

even though it was a nice day ...

I had my hood up and gloves on ...

it sure was a chilly ride ...

being it is the end of October ...

The car is a 1929 Model A with a 1923 T Bucket body ... Chevy 350 w/400 HP ...
 Turbo 350 Transmission ... Ford 9" Rear end w/4:56 gears. 

Ian decided to help out with the editing ...

wanted it to look nostalgic ...

Busy Beaver ...

It was a cold and chilly morning ... Kendall & I went for a brisk walk along the road ... we were surprised to see the trunk of this tree ... almost completely gnawed by resident beavers ...








Apparently the beavers have caused quite a bit of damage throughout this area with falling the trees onto the roadway ... I was informed that the skid marks on the road are caused from drivers having to slam on their breaks to avoid hitting the trees ... Ian said this tree will probably be brought down tonight ... !! I'll have to check it out in the morning before I head back home ... !

Ian loves his tuna casserole that Kendall makes ... I didn't make it while the kids were growing up as their dad wouldn't eat it ... !!!

With washable markers we practiced the alphabet and spelling words ... writing them on the bathtub walls ... he loves letters ... !!!!

It was an exciting evening for Daigen and grandma's ipad2 ... I was showing Ian & Kendall the interactive story books for children ... and Daigen caught sight of it and that was it ... he was hooked ... I had downloaded the pop-up Peter Rabbit book by Beatrix Potter ... he spent over an hour playing with it ... it's amazing that he was able to figure out what he needed to with only being shown a couple times ...the joy and smiles on his face was priceless ... !!! He loved the sound and movement of the animals when he touched them ... as well as the music and narrators voice ... he would also point to all the words ... and turn the page when it was read ... After he was tucked into bed ... I downloaded a few more interactive books for the next day ... A great way to spend time with him ... snuggled by my side as we toured thru the books ... I think an iPad will be on the list this year for Christmas ... in the Knight household ... !!! Having a great time ... !!!

Dagmar had a lesson on making a birdhouse ...

Evelyne helped with carving out the holes for the cord to hang the birdhouse ...

this piece will be part of the collection for the next firing in the kiln ...

I fell in love with the birdhouses ...

so many to choose from ... 

thought I would take a few pictures ...

I did end up purchasing the birdhouse with the large leaves as the roof ...

When Jim & Dagmar came for a visit yesterday ...

she surprised me with this gift ...

the other little birdhouse I fell in love with ...

These two beautiful birdhouses ...

will be a wonderful addition ...

when they are placed outside next spring ...

in my yard ...
